Oh, boy, isn't life a roller coaster ride sometimes! I'm happy to have a great job and sincerely hope to have the same or a similar one next year. But it wouldn't be the end of the world for me to end up back in the classroom. Being away from the classroom for a year has helped me step back and take a look at what's wrong with the job I was doing as well as what was right. The intentions were all good but everything could be tweaked a little to make the job easier on me and more direct for the students. Some of the other programs could use an infusion and a shake up as well. It's going to be an interesting year year.

Well it's been an extremely long time since I've updated this. We are back to where we were last year in the job situation. I've loved administration work this year. I've learned a lot and have worked with some really good administrators. The students are really good and those that are successful are really trying to right wrong turns. While we still have a number that are making those wrong turns, I hope the schools have made an impression that will eventually lead them back to making those right turns again.

Funding is way up in the air again. If the tax extension doesn't pass, the unemployment rate in California will skyrocket. We thought 12% was bad. Watch out! One extremely large school district will have to lay over over 5000 teachers and who knows how many classified staff to go along with it.

Next year at this time, I may be sitting in Iowa looking out the window at snowdrifts! I hope not. But we are all getting pink slips and since this was a new position, I will have to reapply this year. The number of opportunities are shrinking and the pool of potential applicants is growing. We'll see what happens! Stay tuned!
